Students at Nottingham University in the UK's East Midlands organised a protest against the university's research funded by BAE Systems.
Given how much research work is carried out by universities around the world for arms manufacturers, the sector's need for fresh talent, and the success of student bodies in changing the way university's invest their endowments, this new focus could be a significant blow to the sector.
