Indian technology company Satyam Computer Services is alleged by investigators to have 13,000 fewer employees than the company claims.

Prosecutors believe Satyam has 40,000 employees, not 53,000.

Gangaraj Prasad, the public prosecutor of Andhra Pradesh state, told the Financial Times that Satyam chairman B Ramalinga Raju invented the employees then took their pay for himself.
