1. Stay on topic

APEsphere is news site with a difference: its content is entirely focused on responsible (and irresponsible) business, and green or ethical living. The APEsphere community exists to share news, opinion and analysis on these issues and their resolution. Keep your comments on topic. .

2. Copyright

It is your responsibility to ensure that your comment does not infringe anyone else's copyright. Although you are encouraged to use APEsphere for sharing links to news found elsewhere on the web, copying and pasting entire articles or copying their headlines into APEsphere is an absolute no-no that will likely get your membership suspended, and possibly action against you by the copyright owner. Under copyright law you can include quotations from other people's work provided it amounts to what is known as "fair use", which is explained here.

3. Make sure of your facts

When writing your comments check your facts. You would not wish to end up the defendant of a negligence or defamation suit brought by someone who acts on what you say, or who looks bad because of statements you make that are found to be false. Make clear in your comment if something is only a rumor or is satirical.

4. Think of the children

In the interests of a lively discussion we will turn a blind eye to occasional swearing in the comments section, but use strong language judiciously. Simply put, respect other people in our community; don't fuel the flames; set an example.

5. Sins of self-promotion

The content you share for free on APEsphere is comment on the topic at hand. Advertisers have to pay.
